1. Simple Portrait
BELLEVILLE, Ont. (10/9/11) – Don Wilson and wife Elsa are regular merchants at Belleville's Farmer's Market.  What many may not know is that Don ran as an NDP candidate on several occasions in the Belleville area.  He is especially proud of his Granddaughter studying General Arts in her first year at Ryerson University.  Photo by Tom Hicken.

2. Freeze, Motion, Blur
BELLEVILLE, Ont. (26/9/11) – A strawberry splashes down onto a spoonful of milk.  Canada, and other countries with colder climates, will lose up to 20 per cent of annual strawberry crops due to frost.  New research has begun by Norwegian scientists on frost tolerance in strawberries, so that these regions will be able to lengthen their strawberry growing season.  Photo by Tom Hicken.

3. Depth of Field

4. Candid vs Posed
TORONTO, Ont. (8/10/11) –  Kitchen and wait staff watch in awe as the Maître d' of Carisma freestyles a soccer ball.  Staff passed the time, and the soccer ball, outback the Toronto Italian restaurant as they waited for a smaller than usual  dinner rush to arrive this past Thanksgiving weekend.  Photo by Tom Hicken.
